Last week another road trip was in order! Peter from Scottsburn Nurseries kindly donated 10 trays of seedlings every season to our school garden. Super excited to get these Austum seedlings into the veggie patches with the kids! Victorian School Garden Awards granted us a winning voucher late last year for our garden so we headed off to Gardenworld to get some native compost to plant out the native wall that has slowly taken shape around the Asian Hut. At the last Bonbeach Farmers Market we purchased some Native Westringa from Geoff who comes down from Somerville Plant Nursery.
The Garden Club students have been busy gutting and preparing beds with school made compost ready for the seedlings to go in over the next week. We were also lucky enough to have another donation form Owen and Breanna's grandma who gave us trays of seedlings also. It's going to be an exciting season in the garden with, purple beans, purple peas, purple broccoli, purple cauliflower, purple carrots, alongside, lettuce, snowpeas, bok choi, radishes and butter beans. Andy has quite rightfully names the patch "purple paradise" and we have had some great suggestions with what to cook up in our new $20,000 kitchen from the Good Guys!!
