NATIONAL NUDE FOOD DAY - Mad Hatter's Tea Party!
Nude Food Day was so fun much for the students at Bonbeach Primary School!
It was not just about having rubbish free food but also about healthy foods and of course making it FUN for everyone! Our Nude Food Day was celebrated with a Mad Hatters Tea Party on the school oval. Students, teachers and parents had been working 'madly' on an Alice in Wonderland themed yarn art installation as a part of Seniors Week in our local community. The tea party was a great way to show our schools enthusiasm for fun, healthy foods and also about keeping it Nude! Students, teachers and parents put a lot of effort into making the tea party food fun and waste free.
At the end of the tea party the Green Thumbs put cup cake wrappers, paper plates & napkins into the compost bins, plastic plates were washed, bamboo fruit sticks were used in the garden to secure seedling hot houses and edible scraps went to the chickens. The rubbish tally at the end of the Tea Party was almost nil, with only 3 pieces of non-recyclable rubbish. We are proud rubbish re-cyclers!
