Green Thumbs term 2017
TERM 2 - all grades 5/6 learn under the science curriculum. TERM 3- all grades 2,3,4 students learn under the science curriculum All students are welcomed into the garden Thursday & Friday lunchtimes for general gardening sessions. We will be doing regular maintenance, planting, watering, feeding the chooks, cleaning the coop and of course picking produce. Families are welcomed and encouraged to enjoy the beautiful space at this time also. Students find the garden a great place to be challenged with new experiences whilst gaining a sense of ownership and pride for their school garden. It gives them a chance to ‘go slow’ and nurture themselves in their own way as they choose how they would like experience their garden. Families are welcome to join in and learn with their child at any time. Students are encouraged to ask questions, help with general duties and learn at their own pace. The above program is based upon Organic Schools Australia & Spiral Gardens Permaculture for Families . Amy & Jade have designed the program to complement the whole school environment with the school curriculum. |
