Bonbeach Primary Schools first Farmers Market was a huge success for the Green Thumbs! We spent a lot of time filling recycled milk bottles with our schools Worm Wee. At first the thought of having 60 bottles (120litres) of Worm Wee was a bit excessive and did not expect that we would sell 30 bottles in the first 2 hours of the market. By the end of the day we had sold 50 bottles!
Nature Hunt Bracelets were also a huge hit with the kids. Given a list of nature items they had to forage around the school grounds for and stick them onto a piece of tape that was wrapped around their wrist. Lots of fun and many other objects found that the kids thought fun and interesting. It also kept them busy whilst parents shopped the fresh produce.
The proceeds of the day went to on to purchase a new Pizza Oven for the kitchen garden. The students are now waiting for their pizza toppings to grow.
